The Groton Elementary Staff was excited to welcome students back to school today! A special thank you to our Elementary PAC for welcoming students and staff with the Sign Gypsies Sign at the main entrance today! It is going to be a GREAT year at Groton Area!!
It may be scorching outside, but if you are planning on attending the first home volleyball game on Thursday these ladies are warning you to dress accordingly!!
That is right... we now have air conditioning in the Arena!!

VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE CHANGE
- Groton will now play Mobridge/Pollock on Monday, October 2nd, instead of Tuesday, October 3rd. (C at 4pm, JV at 5pm, Varsity to follow)
- Junior High VB with Mobridge/Pollock has been rescheduled to Monday, September 11th with both 7th and 8th grade playing at 5pm.
Congratulations to our Boys Golf Team on a great day at the Northeast Conference Meet in Redfield! Brevin - 4th, Carter - 9th, Logan - 11th, Jace - 13th. Way to go, boys!!

GHS Booster PAC is seeking parents and students from grades 6 to 11 to assist in our concession stand throughout the school year. Without these volunteers, PAC would not be able to support our HS/MS students and staff and are truly appreciative.

Our Tiger Runners began their season last week with their leader, Coach Malsom! We wish our Cross Country athletes "Good Luck" this fall in all of their meets! Go Tigers!

Fall sports are in full swing here at Groton Area! Junior High and High School Volleyball had their first official practices today. The HS squad kicks off their season in exactly two weeks, as they face the Chargers from Hamlin!
Attention Groton Area Elementary students and families: On Monday, August 21 from 4:00-6:00 PM we will be hosting an open house. Students are welcome to bring their school bags and supplies at this time. Kindergarten will still have their orientation meetings on the first day of school.
6th Grade Back to School Welcome Walk will be held at the MS/HS building on Monday August 21st from 3:30-5:30. Join us to find your locker, get your schedule, meet some staff, and become more familiar with your new building!

Our Groton Tiger Boys golf team began their fall season on Monday, August 7th! Coach Guthmiller has 9 golfers on his squad this year. Their first meet is Monday, August 14th at Sioux Valley(Volga). Best of luck, gentlemen!
Groton Area Elementary students who are required to have a school planner will not have to purchase one for $3.00. Elementary PAC will be purchasing all of the planners for our students. Please do not send $3.00 to the office as referred to in the old elementary supply list. Thank you!!
Our GHS Football Squad began their season yesterday! We are looking forward to watching these young men under the Friday Night Lights in just two weeks. Join us at home on Friday, August 18th @ 7pm, as the Tigers take on the Cavaliers from Roncalli!
