Due to the frigid temperatures, the DH basketball games scheduled for tonight with Milbank have been POSTPONED until this Saturday, January 24th. The games will be as followed:

2:00pm - Girls JV/Boys C
3:00pm - Boys JV
4:00pm - Girls Varsity
5:15pm - Boys Varsity

*This means the FORD "C"lassic is cancelled, and due to lack of numbers there will be no girls C game played either.

Congratulations to Liam Johnson and Ayce Warrington for earning selection into the 2026 SDMEA Middle School All-State Band. Ayce earned second chair Euphonium in the 2026 Festival Band and Liam earned first chair Alto Saxophone in the 2026 Honor Band. Liam will be recognized at the concert for being selected into the Middle School All-State Band for all three years of eligibility.

Ayce and Liam will rehearse with their bands on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center with the final concert held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Due to the road conditions, the JH Basketball Games at Milbank for this afternoon have been called off!

What an amazing showing of Tiger Pride at the Groton Tiger Cheer Clinic yesterday! A huge thank you to our high school cheerleaders and coaches for their hard work, leadership, and dedication in putting on such a fun and inspiring clinic. You did an outstanding job mentoring our littleTigers!🐯✨

We also want to give a big shoutout to the elementary students who participated—your energy, smiles, and enthusiasm lit up the gym! Watching you perform at the game last night was truly special and a perfect reminder that Tiger Pride runs deep in Groton. 💛📣🖤

Wrestling Update:

The Philip Wrestling Tournament scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled due to the weather.
The JH, JV, and Varsity Wrestlers will now wrestle in Gettysburg on Saturday at 10am.

Delivery date will be February 17th between 4-5 pm. We will let everyone know once truck arrives and orders can be picked up anytime that night between 5-6pm.

Congratulations to those students who made second quarter Honor Roll!

Last week JK did a science experiment using water to explore the States of Matter. They watched water change from a liquid to a solid by freezing it, then observed how the ice melts back into a liquid. They also talked about gases and learned that they are mostly invisible, like the air around us. JK will continue observing our water as it slowly evaporates into the air and mark the water level each day.

Mrs. Gibb's students are building 3D shapes in Kindergarten math today!

Congratulations to Liam Johnson for being named to the 2026 South Dakota Music Educators Association Middle School All-State Jazz Band. Liam earned the first chair alto saxophone. The 2026 SDMEA Middle School All-State Jazz Band will rehearse at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center on January 30 and 31 with the final concert at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 31.
