There was excitement in the Elementary Gym this morning! First, the GHS Cheerleaders led the elementary student body in some cheers to get us fired up for the Homecoming Football game tonight! Then, the FCCLA officers announced the Kiss the Pig winner! Mrs. Fjeldheim, Mrs. Groeblinghoff, Mrs. Dunker, Mrs. Smith, Ms. Fischbach, and Mrs. Rowen were all contestants. Mrs. Smith had the most money in her jar and was the lucky winner to kiss the pig this year!! Thank you, Cheerleaders and FCCLA for spreading Tiger Cheer with us!

Some High School Tigers have joined the elementary students for lunch and recess this week. So much fun to spread Tiger Pride all the way from our upperclassmen to our littlest Tigers! Happy Homecoming Week, Tiger Nation!

It was a great day at the Groton Invitational Golf Tournament, as our Tiger Golfers placed 2nd! Brevin Fliehs placed 1st with a 69, Carter Simon placed 2nd with a 75, and Jace Johnson placed 15th with an 86! Congratulations, boys!

Due to the weather, the Cross Country Meet scheduled for today in Britton has been cancelled.

Preschool Developmental Screening: Preschool Developmental Screening is for children ages 3-4 who reside in the Groton Area School District. The child needs to be 3 years of age before the screening date/day. This screening is not required to enter Kindergarten. The screening consists of adaptive, personal/social, communicating/speaking, motor, and concepts skills. If you believe your child has difficulties in any of these areas please contact the school. If your child is already receiving services or enrolled at Groton Elementary School they will not need to be screened. If your child has already been screened but you have concerns please contact the elementary school. If you are new to the district and have a child under the age of 5, we also ask you to contact the elementary school. Screenings will be held on Friday, September 22 8:15-3:15. Information will be sent to families who have already been identified. Please contact Heidi Krueger at 605-397-2317 to schedule a screening time.
