The Groton Area School District will host its annual Veterans Day Celebration on Tuesday, November 11, 2025
The day begins at 7:30 AM with the Veterans Day Breakfast at Groton Area Elementary School. All Veterans are invited to attend this event and receive a breakfast free of charge. We'd love to see you there! Our Groton Area Elementary students will have invitations to give to the veterans most important to them.
At 12:30 PM (Please note the time change.), the students of the Groton Area School District will host the annual Veterans Day Program at the Groton Area High School Arena. The program includes musical selections from the elementary students, the Groton Area High School Choir, the Middle and High School Bands, veterans recognition, and displays of student-made patriotic artwork. This event is open to the public and is always well attended. Please join us!
Part of our annual celebration includes a slide show of veterans. If you know a veteran that you'd like included, please send photos and general information such as name, years of service, branch, and rank to Joe.Schwan@k12.sd.us.
School will dismiss following the program from the GHS Arena. Busses will load at the high school and leave from there. The program is typically about an hour in length so students will be dismissed just a little earlier than usual. OST students will return to the elementary for normal programming.
