The Simmons Invitational MathCounts Competition was held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
Groton Area student, Gretchen Dinger, earned sixth place in the individual division. Gretchen Dinger, Payton Mitchell, and Blake Pauli, Axel Warrington earned fourth place in the team division.

MathCounts is a nationwide coaching and competition program for middle school students that promotes excellence in mathematics. The next junior high competition will be the MathCounts Northeastern SD Chapter Competition on Wednesday, February 5 located at Northern State University.
